In 1869, P.T. Barnum wrote, “‘Every cloud,’ says the proverb, ‘has a silver lining,’ and so I did not despair.’ “
A silver lining – no matter how bad the situation, no matter how bad the storm and how dark the clouds, there is always some good that will come from it. There is always a silver lining. There has to be.
I have often said that I am an optimist, but perhaps that is not the best definition. An optimist sees the glass as half full; sees the good in every situation. I recognize the hard times and the bad times. Life isn’t always easy. But some good will always come out of the those times. Always.
I am a writer.
I am a runner.
I am an explorer of new places and new experiences.
I am a lover, and an occasional fighter.
I have lived in and traveled to many places.
I have experienced much joy and much sorrow in my life.
I am strong and determined, but often feel weak and overwhelmed.
I believe all things happen for a reason – even the hard things.
I believe that every cloud has a silver lining. And every cloud makes me stronger.
